Inter will need to improve their offer for Curtis Jones and, according to Gazzetta, Nottingham Forest’s incoming proposal for Davide Frattesi would ideally help the Nerazzurri raise funds for the Liverpool midfielder.
Inter have made Liverpool midfielder Jones their top transfer target in central midfield, but according to recent reports from the UK, the Reds have set a € 40m price tag on the 25-year-old, who has just entered the final year of his contract at Anfield.
Italian media had previously reported a different transfer fee, suggesting that the Reds would sell Jones for €30m.
Inter are set to sign Marco Palestra from Atalanta in a deal worth over €50m, so they’ll need to rack up the budget for Jones by selling some players.
Among them is Italy international Frattesi, who has attracted interest from Premier League side Nottingham Forest.
Inter value Frattesi at €30m and Forest are reportedly ready to send an offer close to €25m plus add-ons.
Gazzetta notes that Frattesi’s departure would make room for Jones and help Inter raise the funds to boost their offer to Liverpool.
Forest see Frattesi as a potential replacement for Elliot Anderson, who has been targeted by Manchester City and could leave for €150m.
Frattesi is aware of Forest’s interest but is also awaiting proposals from Serie A clubs. Inter will naturally be pushing for the more lucrative offer in order to get as much money as possible for their main midfield target, Jones.
