With South Africa having been drawn alongside Kenya, Eritrea, and Guinea in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Bafana Bafana have been identified as the main threat in their group.
Group D of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers will see only one nation secure qualification, as Kenya are already guaranteed a place at the tournament as co-hosts.
As such, Bafana will battle Guinea and minnows Eritrea for a place at the next AFCON, which will be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Guinean football commentator Thierno Saïdou Diakité has since suggested that Bafana are Guinea's biggest challenge in Group D.
“The Syli National team has been placed in a rather complicated group. With Kenya already qualified, there is practically only one place left to be won. Qualification should therefore essentially be decided between Guinea and South Africa," Diakité said speaking to Planete47.info.
Diakité said for his fellow countrymen to have any hope of qualifying, they will need to show a lot of commitment.
"The Syli will absolutely have to get at least one point away in order to keep all their chances alive before the return match in Conakry.
