Juventus have made enquiries with Paris Saint-Germain over goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier as they explore alternatives to their primary target Emiliano Martinez, with the 24-year-old French international having fallen out of favour at the Parc des Princes.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Emiliano Martinez reportedly remains Spalletti’s first choice between the posts, but Aston Villa’s valuation of around €40 million combined with the Argentine’s salary demands of approximately €7 million per season, pushing close to Juventus’s wage ceiling, are making the deal increasingly difficult to structure.
Vicario, previously considered a fallback option, now appears likely to remain in the Premier League.
Chevalier arrived at PSG amid considerable fanfare but has progressively lost his starting position to Safonov.
Despite his fall from grace in Paris, he is still considered a goalkeeper of genuine quality and significant potential.
Besiktas are also understood to be interested in taking Chevalier to Turkey for new coach Vincenzo Italiano, who is looking to build a competitive squad for his first season in charge.
Juventus’s existing dialogue with PSG over Randal Kolo Muani could also facilitate discussions over Chevalier, potentially opening the door to a broader negotiation between the two clubs.
