Former Orlando Pirates star Joseph Kamwendo has revealed what would be running through his mind right now if he was still at the club with two games before a potential league title.

Pirates could be on the verge of claiming the 2025/26 Betway Premiership title if they win their two remaining games.

Two key matches against Durban City this weekend and Orbit College remain, as the club are looking to win their first league title since the 2011/12 season.

Ex-Bucs star Kamwendo, who is now an assistant coach at Zimbabwean club CAPS United, says he'd be more motivated than ever knowing he had just two games to win the Betway Premiership.

“I feel these are good moments for any footballer,” said Kamwendo, as per Pan-African Football.

“We all fight to be champions, so when you have this opportunity, two games to go, and there are two teams that have the chance to win the championship. For Mamelodi Sundowns, they are used, but for Pirates, it has been a few years since they won the championship.”

Kamwendo added that if he were part of the current squad, there would be a little pressure because you're representing a big club such as Pirates.

"But what is important now is to realise that you are only two games away for one to become a champion so that is where the passion and everything comes in."

“This is a very good chance for Orlando Pirates to reclaim the championship from Mamelodi Sundowns…I feel that Pirates have all the chances to go all the way and win this championship."

“They should take advantage…Pirates have two games, so they just must play their cards very well, knowing that a win in these two games would give them the championship. I am wishing the team very well, and it is good to see that we have a very big chance of taking the trophy from Sundowns.”
