Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze says the Soweto giants will be ready to compete next season after securing a third-place finish in the Betway Premiership.
With nothing to play and their season objectives long sealed, the Amakhosi fielded a number of fringe players and development graduates.
After a positive start to the match, the Chilli Boys took initiative through Sammy Seabi and were able to see it out for the remainder of the match to land the victory.

Moreover, the coach who took over the reins jointly midway in the season looks ahead to the next campaign and believes the foundation laid stands them in good stead.
“I would say we started well the game, got a couple of opportunities to give ourselves confidence to score but we lacked a little bit decision-making, composure. I understand as well a lot of attacking players it was their first time starting a game and you know associated them. As well, when you don’t score you give the opportunity the believe to the opponent team,” Kaze told SuperSport TV.
“We came back in the second half with better intentions to pressing high, we were getting opportunities but unfortunately, we couldn’t score.
“But as well, it’s a game with a lot of experience that we gave to the young players to play in the Premier League to feel how the league is and I’m pretty sure the future is bright for those young players.
“Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the result we wanted but overall good season, even though we didn’t win a trophy. I’m pretty sure next season after the foundation we laid this season, next season we going to be able and very ready to compete for next season,” Kaze added.
On his future and whether he will remain in charge next season, the coach doesn’t know yet and will meet the club’s top brass next week to have a way forward in this regard but is calm.
“About that, we don’t know yet. Next week, we will meet the board and review the season and from that we will assist and a decision will be made. We’re calm and look forward to what’s going to happen,” Kaze said.
