Kieran Tierney has reacted on social media after Arsenal finally won the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

It has been a long, long wait to return to the top step of the podium for the Gunners, who finished second in the past three seasons.

But victory over Burnley on Monday left Manchester City needing to go to Europe-chasing Bournemouth and win, a task that, despite Erling Haaland’s 95th-minute equaliser to cancel out Eli Junior Kroupi’s opener, proved too big.

Full-time confirmed Pep Guardiola’s inability to catch Mikel Arteta’s side and sparked wild celebrations across London.

Arsenal’s form in May has been title-winning, and they will hope it can bring a historic double when they face PSG in the Champions League final next week.

Team news, line-ups, expert verdicts and previews, and tactical analysis for every Gunners fixture.

Arsenal are in line for a £300million revenue boost following their title win, which is the result of several years of squad building and development.

Arteta was hired in December 2019 as the club sat in turmoil, having faced a disappointing spell under Unai Emery.

It was not initially fast progress under the Spaniard, and the Gunners finished eighth in his second full season.

Even when they began to challenge for the Premier League, Man City and Liverpool last season, denied them at the final hurdle.

But Tuesday’s celebrations told the story of a dream finally accomplished, with the jubilation to continue throughout the summer.

Tierney joined Arsenal before Arteta and took part in several title challenges before leaving on a free transfer last summer to rejoin his boyhood club, Celtic.

He ended his personal wait for a title when the Hoops lifted the Scottish Premiership last week.

Declan Rice took to Instagram to share a picture of the celebrations on Tuesday, in a post accompanied by the phrase: “I told you all, it’s done”. Tierney liked the post and commented with a red heart.

Arsenal’s journey to Premier League glory has been carried by several figures no longer at the club.

Granit Xhaka was a massive part of Arteta’s early years in charge, and the now-Sunderland midfielder replied to Rice’s post with a heart.

Jorginho joined Arsenal during the first title challenge of 2022-23, and left last summer after playing a part in three campaigns that came so close.

He also left Rice with hearts, and several other past Gunners liked the post, with a long wait finally ended.
