Leeds accelerate plan to beat Aston Villa to Harry Wilson deal after Daniel Farke's claim
Leeds United are among the clubs interested in a deal to sign free agent Harry Wilson this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Wilson, 29, left Fulham at the end of the season after five years with the Cottagers, and his best-ever campaign.
The forward scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League, including a number of sensational finishes.
The Leeds interest is not new - Wilson came incredibly close to joining last summer before the deal collapsed on transfer deadline day.
Decision-makers at Elland Road are aware that such deals will be required to take the next step in the Premier League.
Leeds established themselves in the top flight by staying up, but they must now adapt and strengthen if they are to stay there.
Several sides are expected to attempt to convince Wilson to sign with them this summer, with sources saying Aston Villa are among heavyweights keen on the ex-Liverpool star.
The winger enjoyed a hugely impressive season, registering 14 direct goal contributions over a 19-game period between November and March.
A right-sided forward, the 29-year-old's arrival could pave the way for Wilfried Gnonto to leave the club this summer.

Wilson is not an unknown quantity, having made more than 150 appearances in the Premier League.
Before this season, though, the forward's best campaigns had come in the Championship. Leeds manager, Daniel Farke, even acknowledged the player's quality during his time in charge of Norwich City.
Speaking in 2020 before the Canaries would beat Cardiff City 2-0 at Carrow Road, the German said: "Harry Wilson is a fantastic player".
Farke's attempts to sign Wilson proved fruitless last summer, and the German has since confirmed that he even tried to sign him during his time at Norwich.
He will hope it is third time lucky this summer, with it clear that the winger is not short on admirers at Elland Road.
"Harry Wilson's a really good player and he's playing a fantastic season," said Farke in January. "His number of end products is very impressive and I know him since many, many years ago.

"Even at Norwich, I can remember I tried to sign him there. He's one of players we have to be very aware about".
The threat of competitors is still high. Should a team with Champions League football to offer next season get involved, it would be hard to imagine Leeds winning the race for Wilson.
Should the Whites be successful, however, they will be adding a player capable of winning a game single-handedly.
