Man City's Elliot Anderson deal will 'get done' with possible player exchange as medical plan emerges

Elliot Anderson's transfer from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City will get done "sooner rather than later."

That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that a bid of £130million upfront will tempt the Reds into a sale.

This comes after the news that City have seen a £120m offer rejected by Forest in recent days.

Wyness is adamant that City are now "close enough" that the transfer will still get done despite Forest's resistance, especially if the deal is sweetened a little.

The England international has become one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League, and appears destined to move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Forest dug their heels in last summer to prevent Morgan Gibbs-White from joining Tottenham, but Wyness is clear that no such scenario will play out this time around.

Everton’s former chief Wyness - who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs - believes that it is now a matter of time before City increase their offer and secure Anderson's signature.

The 23-year-old is currently away at the World Cup with England, and Fabrizio Romano revealed on Friday that the plan is for him to undergo his medical in the USA.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness emphasised that he expects both clubs to be satisfied with £130m.

"I think it will happen at £130m, no add-ons, straight forward £130m, and I think City will get there," he said.

"I expect it to get done. I don't think (Evangelos) Marinakis will stand in the way. If City are at £106m plus add-ons, that's pretty close to £130m.

"There may be a player involved somewhere down the line as well. But I think they're close enough now to get it done. I expect City to seal it sooner rather than later."

Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Forest will "consider" selling right-back Nicolo Savona this summer.

The Italian is subject to interest from Atalanta, who are keen to take him back to Serie A after just one season in the Premier League.

Forest are willing to entertain offers for the 23-year-old if it allows them to recoup the £13m that they spent to sign him from Juventus.

Savona is currently seen as Vitor Pereira's second-choice right-back behind Ola Aina, and could be shown the door if he is forced further down the pecking order.
