Man United x adidas Pay Tribute To 1977 Glory With New Home Kit

Manchester United and adidas have officially unveiled the club's new home kit for the 2026/27 season, blending classic design elements inspired by United's rich legacy with a contemporary look tailored for its next era.

A stylish blend of retro inspiration and modern performance innovation, designed to honour the club's celebrated legacy while looking firmly toward the future, Manchester United and adidas have dropped another inspired home kit design.

According to adidas, the latest strip draws heavily from Manchester United's iconic 1970s aesthetic, with a clean red base forming the centrepiece of the design.

A standout polo collar and striped sleeve cuffs add a refined vintage touch, delivering a timeless look synonymous with the club's identity.

The design subtly pays tribute to United's memorable 1977 domestic cup triumph, with the collar detailing and striping inspired by kits worn during that historic era — marking 50 years since the achievement. While rooted in nostalgia, the jersey also embraces a sleek contemporary feel, balancing heritage with a fresh modern edge.

Classic white accents across the adidas three stripes and branding provide sharp contrast against the bold red body, while understated black detailing reinforces the club’s traditional colour palette. A "United" sign-off on the back of the neck completes the look with a minimalist finishing touch.

Beyond aesthetics, the jersey has also been engineered for elite-level performance. The kit incorporates lightweight, body-mapped 3D engineered fabrics designed to improve comfort, fit and mobility on the pitch.

Equipped with adidas' latest CLIMACOOL+ technology, the jersey is built to wick sweat away faster and keep players cooler for longer periods. Perforated three-stripe taping and strategically placed mesh panels further enhance breathability and ventilation during high-intensity play.

The full 2026/27 home kit is completed with white shorts and black socks, a classic combination that rounds off the club's instantly recognisable matchday look.

The new Manchester United home jersey is available from today at selected adidas retail stores and via adidas South Africa. The kit is reportedly set to be debuted in the English Premier League this Saturday when the Red Devils host Nottingham Forest for their last home game of the season.
