Mateus Fernandes' 3.27 and 0.83 stats show he's a different level to Man United player he's replacing
Mateus Fernandes has reportedly given the green light to Manchester United ahead of a potential move this summer.
The West Ham midfielder is keen to leave following relegation to the Championship, and has several suitors.
Arsenal, PSG and Real Madrid are also rumoured to have registered their interest, but Man United's appears to be the most advanced.
If Fernandes does arrive at Old Trafford, he will likely be a direct replacement for Casemiro, who has departed following the expiration of his contract.
The Brazil international enjoyed arguably his finest season in the Premier League, but is entering the final years of his career.
West Ham are reportedly keen to make a sale of Fernandes quick, with a price tag of around £80million mentioned.
More on Manchester United and Mateus Fernandes.
West Ham midfielder has indicated he is open to joining.
Talks with West Ham have now started as #MUFC try to lower or restructure the £80-85m asking price.

Man United have already sealed the signing of one midfielder this summer in Ederson.
A deal worth around £34.5m for the Brazilian has been agreed with Atalanta, although official confirmation is yet to arrive.
Fernandes is likely the closer fit stylistically to Casemiro, though, although the comparison is not a seamless fit.
This season, the 34-year-old often got forward and made marauding runs into the box and while the West Ham midfielder can be seen doing the same, he prefers to sit deep and dictate.

The 21-year-old will have a difficult job replicating the massive nine Premier League goals Casemiro scored last season, although his three is respectable.
It is also important to note that Casemiro spent his final season with a far better team than Fernandes' West Ham, with Bruno Fernandes an asset for any player.
In terms of passing, the pair are fairly well matched. The younger midfielder created one more chance this season but his senior created more expected assists per 90 (0.11 to 0.09).
The numbers are impressive for long balls, too. Fernandes' 3.27 per 90 is slightly better than Casemiro's 2.99.

Where it is not close is in the dribble. The West Ham midfielder's 0.83 successful dribbles per 90 is in another league to his competitor's 0.21.
Off the ball, Casemiro largely dominates the comparison, registering far more clearances and blocks per game.
Michael Carrick may be happy to hear that Fernandes' defending is more front-footed, however.
The Portugal international makes more successful tackles per 90, 1.99 to Casemiro's 1.56, and wins possession higher up the pitch.
The West Ham midfielder registered 0.51 per 90 of possession won in the final third this season, with the departing Man United midfielder offering just 0.31 in the same metric.
Carrick is losing a huge presence in Casemiro and may have liked to keep him around. What is clear, however, is that he will be replaced by an elite talent if a deal for Fernandes does materialise.
