Teko Modise and Linda Mntambo are proving that Soweto's football culture and fashion influence remain deeply connected, with the two stars recently stepping into the spotlight as faces of the rising local luxury label Boys of Soweto.
The stylish duo recently took to Instagram to showcase their latest looks from the Braamfontein-based streetwear brand, which has steadily carved out a reputation for blending township nostalgia, contemporary menswear and elevated street style aesthetics.
Founded by designer and entrepreneur Vusumuzi Ndima — better known in fashion circles as Bob the Stylist — Boys of Soweto has become recognised for its minimalist yet culturally rooted designs, offering everything from embossed T-shirts and jacquard golf shirts to knitwear, tracksuits and statement outerwear.
As part of the brand's latest Autumn/Winter '26 campaign titled "BHEJA NGAWE," Linda Mntambo joined a carefully curated cast of creatives and cultural tastemakers, including multi-disciplinary artist Justice Mukheli and media personality Siyabonga Ngwekazi, popularly known as Scoop Makhathini.
The campaign leans heavily into themes of township identity and nostalgia, pairing rich earthy tones with layered winter silhouettes and relaxed tailoring that reflect both comfort and contemporary street culture.
Meanwhile, former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise grabbed attention online after posting a striking look featuring a lime-green double-breasted Boys of Soweto suit embossed with the brand's signature typography.
