A festive and friendly atmosphere has emerged among Moroccan and Scottish supporters ahead of their World Cup encounter, with fans from both countries emphasizing celebration and sportsmanship over rivalry.
Since the Atlas Lions’ arrival in Boston on Sunday, Moroccan and Scottish fans took to the streets to harmoniously celebrate the upcoming fixture.
Across Scotland, anticipation for the match has been visible in city streets, shops and public gathering spaces decorated with national flags. Supporters wearing Scottish jerseys have gathered to sing chants and discuss the upcoming fixture, which many view as a landmark moment following Scotland’s long absence from the World Cup.
Abir Elmoustaine, a Moroccan resident in Scotland, described the mood as enthusiastic and welcoming.

“Everyone’s excited here,” she said. “Everywhere I go, I see Scottish flags, people singing chants and wearing jerseys. A lot of fans want Scotland to win, of course, but many are simply happy to see their country playing in the World Cup again after 28 years.”
Elmoustaine said Moroccan supporters have also received a warm reception from local fans.
“I wore my Moroccan jersey a few days ago, and everyone was friendly,” she said. “People wished me luck for Friday’s match, joked around and engaged in friendly banter. Whether Scotland wins or loses, many people are just happy to watch their country play.”
Similar sentiments have appeared on social media, where supporters from both nations have shared friendly exchanges and messages of encouragement ahead of the match.
As kickoff approaches, the atmosphere surrounding the fixture has been characterized more by mutual respect and excitement than by tension, with many fans viewing the occasion as a celebration of football and international camaraderie.
The match is expected to attract significant attention from supporters of both teams as Morocco seeks to continue its positive World Cup campaign and Scotland looks to make the most of its return to the tournament stage.
