The Moroccan national football team was honored by local authorities in Bernards Township, New Jersey, receiving a formal resolution and the key to the city in recognition of its positive impact on the community during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The distinction was presented during a Township Committee meeting attended by Bernards Township Mayor Ana Duarte McCarthy, Consul General of Morocco in New York Mohamed Ait Bihi, Vice Consul Hamza Hnach, and U.S. Soccer Federation coach Alex Lalaoui.
Township officials praised the Atlas Lions for choosing The Pingry School as their training base and temporary home during the tournament, highlighting the team’s contribution to the local community and the enthusiasm generated among residents.
