Newcastle's Eddie Howe sack timeline outlined by ex-scout: 'There can be a manager change there'
Eddie Howe will face massive pressure in the first few months of the new season at Newcastle United.
The 48-year-old has narrowly dodged the boot after a massively disappointing season, but decision-makers' patience has run thin.
The Magpies finished 12th in the Premier League and were knocked out of every cup competition, in what was a significant failure after the successes of last season.
Newcastle won the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Champions League in the 2024-25 campaign, with the blame for their staggering fall-off ultimately falling on the shoulders of Howe.
And with Anthony Gordon having already left St James' Park this summer, joining Barcelona in a deal worth around £69million, the Englishman has his work cut out.
Newcastle could still lose several more players, with the pressure on Howe ever increasing.

There is deep appreciation for the job that Howe has done since arriving at Newcastle in 2021.
The Magpies had been fighting relegation, but ultimately finished 11th and, incredibly, qualified for the Champions League in the season after
Howe ended the 70-year wait for a trophy when his side won the Carabao Cup last season, and he has taken Newcastle to places many fans thought would not be possible before the Saudi Arabian intervention.
But progress was lost this season, and the ex-Bournemouth boss finds himself on thin ice.
"He's on a lot of money, he's on a very good contract," former Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham scout Bryan King told Football Insider. "If he got the sack, he'd end up walking away with a lot of money.
"I'm not going to feel sorry for him in that aspect. But again, the results would dictate whether he stays or whether he goes. He isn't going to be going now.
"They're certainly going to let him get started in the new season and lead pre-season. But I can see if things don't pick up in the league, in August, September, then there can be a manager change there."
Oliver Glasner appears to be the best-placed manager to replace Howe, if he is dismissed early in the season.
The Austrian left Crystal Palace after winning the Conference League at the end of the season, and is yet to find new employment.
Other options include Thomas Frank and Arne Slot, who left Liverpool after he was sacked last month.
Kieran McKenna would be in the conversation after he left Ipswich Town, but the Englishman is expected to take time out of the game.
