Nico Williams will be ready for 2026 World Cup – Spain manager Luis De La Fuente

Spain coach Luis De La Fuente has disclosed that Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams will be ready for the upcoming 2026 World Cup tournament.Williams, who has Ghanaian roots, was forced off with injury in the sides La Liga showdown against Valencia, held at the San Mames Stadium on Sunday.The injury effectively rules the highly-rated winger out of the remainder of the league campaign, dealing a significant blow to Athletic Bilbao amid a difficult season.Giving update about injured trio ahead of the mundial, De La Fuente expressed that Nico Williams alongside Lamine Yamal and Mikel Merino would recover in time for the tournament.I believe we will have Lamine, Nico and (Mikel) Merino available for the opening match and if not, they should be ready for the second or third game.
