
Nurkovic’s career decision confirmed
There has been a confirmation decision reached on the future of the last striker to get into double figures in the league scoring charts at Kaizer Chiefs.
The career decision surrounding Serbian striker Samir Nurkovic’s future has been confirmed as he nears the expiry of his latest contract.
Nurkovic remains the last player to reach double figures in the league, scoring goals at Kaizer Chiefs, which he did during the 2019/20 season when he got to 13.

He spent the current season with Siwelele, but injury has meant he has played only four games, with his last appearance coming six months ago.
With his contract up at the end of June, there has been growing speculation around the 33-year-old.
"We have spoken about what to consider when he stops playing football because the reality is that his career is headed towards the end," confirms his agent and former Croatia youth international Dejan Simac.
"We haven’t reached any retirement decision yet because he still wants to play.
"There is no intention to retire right now, so Samir will still be on the market as a player in the next window.
"The injury has been an issue, yes, and his contract expires end of June, but that doesn’t mean he is retiring.
"Retiring will ultimately happen in a few years to come, but not now.
"He is recovered and keen to continue playing for now," says Simac.

Nurkovic has made an application for his permanent residence, having been in South Africa since 2019, when Ernst Middendorp brought him to Amakhosi.
The forceful attacker spent three years at Naturena before his move to Royal AM turned sour, and since then has played for TS Galaxy and SuperSport.
His exit from Galaxy came as a surprise having gotten into double figures during his short stay at the club.
