NWFL Playoff: Championship Race Set For Dramatic Final-Day Finish

The 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL, Super Six Playoffs will reach a thrilling conclusion on Sunday, with defending champions Bayelsa Queens, Edo Queens, and Nasarawa Amazons all still in contention for the title.

Edo Queens currently lead the standings with nine points, while Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons trail closely behind on seven points apiece.

With the championship race set to go down to the final day, fans can expect an exciting finish to the season.

The headline fixture of the day will see Edo Queens take on Bayelsa Queens in a high-stakes encounter at the main bowl of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

At the same time, Nasarawa Amazons will face Rivers Angels on the Mini Pitch, hoping to secure maximum points while keeping a close eye on developments in the title-deciding showdown.

Individual honours to be presented include the Player of the Season, Goalkeeper of the Season, Top Scorer Award and the Fair Play Award, adding further significance to what promises to be a memorable closing day.

The winner of the competition will earn a place at the 2026 WAFU B Women’s Champions League.
