PL opening day fixtures: Iwobi, Onyeka, Aina, Ajayi, Tosin, Zadok, Furo discover opponents

Through its official website, the Premier League has officially released the full fixture schedule for the 2026/27 season, confirming the dates and matchups for all 380 games set to be played across the English top flight.

Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka's Coventry City will begin their return to Premier League action with an opening-day trip to the Emirates Stadium, where they will face the reigning champions on Friday, August 21.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to Hull City's MKM Stadium on Saturday, August 22, a fixture that could mark a return to top-flight action for Semi Ajayi.

The experienced defender last appeared in the Premier League during his spell at West Bromwich Albion, before their relegation.

Elsewhere, Tim Iroegbunam's Everton, will also open their league season at home against UEFA Conference League winners Crystal Palace on the same date.

Chuba Akpom's Ipswich Town will also kick off their 2026/2027 Premier League campaign at Portman Road with a home clash against Sunderland.

Nottingham Forest will begin their season at the City Ground against Leeds United, with Super Eagles duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina both in contention to feature.

Awoniyi will be eager to carry on his revitalised form from the end of last season, while Aina will be hoping to regain full fitness and return to the starting XI after missing the last four games of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Kaye Furo's Brentford will open their campaign at the Gtech Community Stadium against Tottenham Hotspur in what promises to be a keenly contested fixture.

On Sunday, August 23, sensational youngster Zadok Yohanna will be hoping to make his Premier League debut when Brighton & Hove Albion host Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Rio Ngumoha is also expected to continue his impressive form for Liverpool as they travel to face William Osula's Newcastle United at St James' Park in the opening fixture.

The young forward will be aiming to make another decisive impact after scoring on his Premier League debut in last season's fixture to help the Reds secure victory.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles duo of Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey will begin the new season with Fulham as they host Tosin Adarabioyo's Chelsea on Monday, August 24 at Craven Cottage.
