Rangers will ‘consider’ new Nicolas Raskin offer as Premier League move lined up

Rangers are open to selling Nicolas Raskin this summer if they receive a suitable offer for his services as Premier League clubs eye a move.

Raskin impressed throughout last term despite Rangers' struggles behind Celtic and Hearts.

His fine form earned him a call-up to the Belgium squad for the World Cup, as he came off the bench in their tournament opener against Egypt last week.

Derek McInnes is set to shake up the Gers' squad as he succeeds Danny Rohl, with Raskin's future up in the air amid constant links away.

Rangers will sell Raskin this summer if a tempting offer is submitted, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast.

Several Premier League clubs have been linked to his services, while Serie A side Atalanta are also reportedly keen on the Belgian midfielder.

The 25-year-old has played down rumours of an imminent move away, insisting that his current focus remains on Belgium's World Cup campaign

Raskin registered six goals and five assists in 35 appearances last term, but reports of a fall-out with former boss Rohl clouded his end to the season.

He still has two years left on his Gers contract, but recently admitted that he has "put club life on hold" to concentrate on international duties.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "There's always going to be interest in top players like Raskin. Rangers are well aware of that.

"Rangers ideally want to keep hold of Raskin, but if a suitable offer comes in for him, it's something they're going to have to consider.

"They could maybe use that money to strengthen elsewhere in their squad."

McInnes will need to bolster his midfield options this summer regardless of whether Raskin leaves or not.

The Belgian star will leave a huge gap in the middle of the park if he does depart though, with sources telling Football Insider that Neil is a target for Rangers.

He spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town from Sunderland, helping them win promotion to the Premier League.

Neil is now a free agent after his Black Cats contract expired, and the Gers are close to signing him but still face competition from several Championship sides.
