AGF Aarhus paid just 700,000 Euros (approximately R13 million) to acquire Gift Links from Cape Town City in 2019, a deal that could yield returns exceeding ten times their initial investment.
The Danish champions have already rejected a double-digit million Euro bid from the Ligue 1 outfit for the 27-year-old winger, who was instrumental in AGF's first title triumph in 40 years.
According to Tipsbladet, AGF football director Carsten V. Jensen deemed the offer unacceptable despite its substantial size, as it fell slightly short of the club's transfer record.
Links, the report states, sees the move as a golden opportunity that may not present itself again.
After seven years of service in Aarhus, the South African international no longer qualifies for Denmark's advantageous researcher tax scheme of 32 percent and must now pay top tax, making a lucrative move to one of Europe's top five leagues increasingly attractive.

The question now is whether Lens will return with an offer AGF cannot refuse, or whether the club will stand firm on their contractual rights despite their loyal servant's desire for a new challenge in France.
