One of football's most iconic partnerships is set to continue well into the next decade after adidas and Real Madrid announced a new eight-year extension to their longstanding relationship.
The agreement further cements a collaboration that has become synonymous with success, style and sporting excellence, with the German sportswear giant and Spanish football powerhouse continuing a partnership that has helped define modern football culture.
First established in 1980 before being reintroduced ahead of the 1998/99 season, the relationship between adidas and Real Madrid has coincided with one of the most successful eras in the club's history.
During that period, Los Blancos have lifted eight UEFA Champions League titles while sporting the famous Three Stripes.
Over more than three decades, the partnership has produced some of football's most memorable kits and apparel collections, blending elite performance technology with lifestyle fashion that resonates far beyond the pitch.
The collaboration has dressed generations of Real Madrid superstars, including Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Toni Kroos and Jude Bellingham, while creating jerseys that remain cherished by supporters around the world.
Among the standout releases are the gold-trimmed 2011/12 home kit, worn during a record-breaking La Liga campaign, and the iconic 2001/02 Centenary jersey — a minimalist all-white design forever associated with Zidane's unforgettable Champions League final winner against Bayer Leverkusen.
The announcement arrives shortly after the launch of Real Madrid's latest home kit, which incorporates subtle details from the club crest alongside striking green and pink accents.
Beyond the men's first team, the renewed agreement also covers Real Madrid's academy structures, the club's women's team and its highly successful basketball division, further strengthening the relationship across all areas of the organisation.
Speaking about the landmark deal, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez highlighted the significance of the partnership.
"This agreement that we are signing today is the most important in the history of football. The strategic alliance between Real Madrid and adidas has helped us, over these three decades, to experience one of the most wonderful periods in our history. It has also enabled us to continue nurturing this universal feeling known as madridismo."
adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden echoed those sentiments, describing the collaboration as one of sport's defining partnerships.
"This is one of the longest and most successful partnerships in sport. Real Madrid is a very special club with an exceptional history. I am extremely proud that the Three Stripes will continue to be part of this extraordinary success story.
"We look forward to continuing to provide the best products for the team to help them perform at the highest level. For their huge fanbase around the world, we will create exciting lifestyle products to allow them to show their passion and support for the club - both in the stadiums and on the street."
With a rich legacy already secured and a new long-term commitment now in place, the adidas and Real Madrid partnership looks set to remain one of football's most influential collaborations for years to come.
