Masandawana will go into the game having faced Moroccan opposition 18 times in CAF competitions, 16 in the Champions League and two games in the African Football League, according to CAFOnline.

The record ever-so-slightly favours the Moroccan sides as Sundowns have won five, lost six and drawn seven games, scoring and conceding 14 goals in that time.

14 of those 18 fixtures have come against Rulani Mokwena's former team, Wydad AC, the first of which came in 2017 in the Champions League quarter-finals.

From 2018 to 2020, Sundowns and Wydad were drawn in the same Champions League group. The two teams also met in the 2019 and 2023 Champions League semi-finals, as well as the 2023/24 African Football League.

Sundowns have four wins, five defeats and five draws against Wydad in their head-to-head record.

During Sundowns' 2024/25 Champions League campaign, they were drawn against both FAR Rabat and Raja Club Athletic in the group stage.

Rabat and Sundowns played to two 1-1 draws last season, while Raja and Sundowns swapped 1-0 victories against each other.

Sundowns will be boosted by their strong record at home as they have yet to suffer defeat against a Moroccan outfit at home, winning five and drawing four of their nine home ties.

In the nine away games, the Brazilians have yet to pick up a win as they suffered six defeats along with three draws on their travels to North Africa.
