Roma’s Dovbyk targeted by Trabzonspor with formula and medical problems

Roma striker Artem Dovbyk has been targeted by Trabzonspor, claim Turkish media reports, but there are problems around the formula and medical tests.

The centre-forward barely played in the current campaign due to a succession of injury problems, making just 18 competitive appearances.

Nonetheless, he still scored three goals with two assists between Serie A and the Europa League, helping his team to qualify for the Champions League.

Coach Gian Piero Gasperini did not disguise that Dovbyk is not suited to his style of football, so the 29-year-old is on the market this summer.

There had already been an approach from Trabzonspor and now A Spor in Turkiye claim that negotiations have intensified once again.

Roma are seeking to replace him with Olympique Marseille wide attacker Mason Greenwood, whose €50m asking price is proving a big obstacle.

Therefore, they need a sale to raise funds for this move, but Trabzonspor are so far eager to get Dovbyk on loan with an option to buy.

This has been rejected, but the club is ready to come back in with a new proposal, including for a permanent transfer.

However, Fotomac report that a medical test would be absolutely crucial before they progress to shake hands for the Ukraine international.
