Pedro said goodbye to Lazio with a winning goal to leave Pisa rock bottom, after a comeback from the Stefano Moreo opener.

The Aquile closed their campaign in a bitter atmosphere after losing the Coppa Italia Final to Inter and then the Derby della Capitale back-to-back. Coach Maurizio Sarri was expected to walk away, with President Claudio Lotito lashing out at players and fans.

Despite it being Pedro’s farewell match, the ultras did not suspend their on-going boycott of the home matches. Nuno Tavares, Nicolò Rovella and Kenneth Taylor were all suspended, with Mattia Zaccagni, Ivan Provedel and Edoardo Motta injured, so third-choice goalkeeper Alessio Furlanetto was again starting after last week’s Serie A debut.

Pisa’s mood was no better, having been relegated weeks ago after just one season in the top flight, losing their last eight in a row. Antonio Caracciolo sat out a ban, with Daniel Denoon, Matteo Tramoni and Francesco Coppola injured.

See how it all unfolded on the Liveblog.

Isak Vural curled just wide in the opening 30 seconds, while Matteo Cancellieri pounced on the Bozhinov slip only to be denied by an Adrian Semper fingertip save.

Adam Marusic came so close on eight minutes, his strike thumping the outside of the near post from a tricky angle on the Cancellieri assist.

Pedro nearly marked his farewell with a curling strike off the right boot, but Semper again got his fingertips to it and turned the finish inches wide.

It was instead Pisa who took the lead, when Reda Belahyane was robbed in midfield to spark the counter-attack, Michel Aebischer standing up the cross for a Stefano Moreo free header from six yards.

There was almost a second moments later with another cross from the right, but this time Furlanetto made the crucial reaction save on a volley at the back post.

Lazio drew level when Belahyane made up for his earlier error by getting away down the left with a nutmeg, rolling across for Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to turn his marker and sweep in from 12 yards.

Pedro turned it around with a goal on his final appearance in the Aquile jersey, bending the precise left-foot finish into the far bottom corner from outside the penalty area.

Luca Pellegrini stung Semper’s gloves on the counter-attack, but Mario Gila went off with a muscular twinge at half-time.

Pedro sent Tijjani Noslin through, his finish parried by Semper’s foot at the near post, and the veteran Spaniard was given a standing ovation at the end of his Lazio career.

Pisa lost Mehdi Leris to a nasty-looking ankle sprain, while Boulaye Dia just failed to tap in the Noslin pull-back from point-blank range.

Semper needed another fingertip save on the Daniel Maldini curler to keep the scoreline down, but it was still a ninth consecutive defeat for Pisa.
