Silas Andersen is now more likely to join Celtic in the summer after their Premiership title win following a failed move for his services in January.

Celtic were linked with a move for BK Hacken midfielder Andersen in the winter, but were unable to prise him from the Swedish top flight side.

Andersen recently admitted that he has made no changes to his plans to leave the club this summer, with Rangers and Wolves battling the Hoops for his services.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Celtic’s Premiership glory and subsequent Champions League play-off qualification has put them in pole position to sign him this summer.

Celtic’s transfer plans are set to be boosted by the increase in finances that will come with qualifying for the UCL.

Breaking news on latest signings, departures, and contract news from the Parkhead boardroom.

Football Insider previously revealed that Champions League qualification would dictate Andersen’s choice between Celtic and Rangers this summer.

Celtic have emerged on top in the race for the Premiership and the UCL, with the Gers set for Europa League football after finishing third behind Hearts.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “I would say there’s more of an opportunity to maybe follow up that interest in Silas Andersen.

“Obviously winning the league, potential Champions League qualification as well will boost the finances at Celtic Park because Andersen is not going to be a cheap deal to do.

“He’s under contract at BK Hacken until December 2029, and there is a lot of interest from elsewhere in the player.”

Celtic are looking to bolster their midfield ranks ahead of next season, with the likes of Benjamin Nygren and Arne Engels both linked with big moves away this summer.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Celtic will step up their interest in Just following their Premiership triumph before he goes to the World Cup with New Zealand.

The Motherwell playmaker registered seven goals and seven assists in 35 league appearances throughout the 2025-26 campaign, with Rangers also unsurprisingly linked to his services.

Much like Andersen, the Hoops’ success under Martin O’Neill has handed them an advantage in the race to sign Just this summer.
