Sources: Leandro Trossard open to Aston Villa move, Arsenal ready to sanction exit
Leandro Trossard would welcome the chance to move to Aston Villa this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Arsenal winger is about to enter the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates Stadium, and the Gunners will not stand in his way if he wants to leave.
Mikel Arteta's side are in the market for a new left-sided forward and are aware that this is their final chance to cash in on the 31-year-old.
The Belgium international is also attracting interest from Besiktas, but sources have indicated that the chance to stay in the Premier League would make a switch to Villa Park his preferred move.
Further interest from across Europe is expected in the coming weeks, with Arsenal happy to let the player decide his own future.
Villa have been heavily linked with a move for him in recent weeks, and could get a deal done if they choose to firm up their interest.
Trossard has gone from strength to strength since joining Arsenal back in 2023, but has never truly become a first-choice selection for Arteta.
Nevertheless, he still managed to notch six goals and six assists from just 21 league starts last term, as he helped the Gunners race to the Premier League title.
The wideman also has ample experience of Champions League football, having scored seven goals across his three separate campaigns at that level.
Unai Emery and Co. are desperate to add to their squad this summer, and Champions League experience is a big plus point for them, as they prepare for their return to the competition.
The Villans want to bring further attacking options to the table as they get ready to compete against Europe's best, and Trossard is someone who they admire greatly.
The chance to sign him could arise this summer if they are prepared to make a move, and Arsenal would be happy to oblige with a sale.
Former Villa scout Mick Brown told Football Insider earlier this week that his former club are eyeing up a move for Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi this summer.
The Villans have had their eyes on the 18-year-old midfielder throughout the campaign, and have already done their "due diligence" on him according to Brown.
Bouaddi starred for Morocco in their 1-1 draw with Brazil, and that performance is expected to see interest in him skyrocket in the coming weeks.
Arsenal have also been linked with a move for him in recent days, but Brown is clear that Villa have already known about him for several months.
