Cardoso has only been working in Africa for 30 months but has already been in the Champions League final with Esperance once and Sundowns twice.
His latest pits him against AS FAR Rabat with the first leg this weekend at Loftus Versfeld.
"For me, I wasn’t here, I got off (after red card that forced him to miss the last two games). I wasn’t in his presence, but as you know, a final, and as you know, the coach loves to win,” says Adams when asked about how Cardoso has been driving the team for this final.
Speaking about Downs' style of play, Adams said Cardoso loves playing and keeping the ball.
"This is his third final," averred Adams. "He lost two, so probably we can win this one for him."
The former Stellenbosch FC man missed the last two games in the Betway Premiership after being sent off against Kaizer Chiefs but is eligible for the Champions League final.
"For us, we as a team, we need to be better in our home games and score more goals at home because if you go that side, it is going to be difficult as always.
