The two World Records you never knew Dean Henderson held as Aston Villa tipped to sign England ace
Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson was, and very much still is, the proud owner of two Guinness World Records.
The 29-year-old shot-stopper has been first-choice at Selhurst Park for the last three seasons, where he has racked up 116 appearances.
Clearly, there is more to him than meets the eye, though, and Aston Villa fans need to know exactly what they're getting after being tipped to sign the England ace.
Mick Brown told Football Insider that the Villans are considering Henderson as a potential replacement for Emi Martinez should the Argentine leave this summer.
Signing someone capable of bringing the same energy to the field as Martinez seems like an impossible task, but for what the Palace man lacks in noise, he makes up for with some superb stops.
And it would also appear that the goalkeeper has some hidden talents, as well, and while it's unlikely to help him on the pitch, it would be a good icebreaker at a new club.
Of course, Henderson now has two Europa League title and the FA Cup to his name, two of which came during the last two seasons with the Eagles.
He has also won the FIFA Under-20s World Cup, as well as the UEFA Under-17s Championship with England, but he is obviously more talented than that.
While his Guinness World Records were won off the pitch, they still connect to football, unsurprisingly, and he still holds both titles after winning them in 2019.
The first is for ‘Fastest Time to Dress as a Goalkeeper, which Palace's star managed in 49.51 seconds, including putting on boots, shinpads, socks, shorts, shirt, gloves and all.
The second is 'Most Headed Football Passes in One Minute in a Team of Two’, a record that he broke alongside Jake Clarke-Salter, having reached 91 in 60 seconds. Impressive.
Some of this information will be known by those at Selhurst Park, but it's certainly not general knowledge across the Premier League.
The better question might be, how likely is it that the Villans will need to replace Martinez this summer?
During his six seasons at Villa Park, the 33-year-old has become an undroppable figure, much-loved by the fanbase, especially for his antics while on the pitch.
However, the rumours surrounding his future only continue to increase in terms of credibility and strength, with all fingers pointing towards an inevitable exit.
This would certainly open the door for the Villans to sign Henderson, but it is unlikely to come at a cheap rate, and Manchester City's James Trafford is another option.
