Vitor Pereira confirms Ola Aina is unavailable for Manchester United clash

Nottingham Forest boss Vitor Pereira provided an update on his squad's fitness during Thursday’s pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Manchester United.

Nottingham Forest secured their place in the Premier League for another season following a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on May 10, 2026.

Ola Aina was not called-up for the visit of the Magpies, having failed to recover from an injury he suffered during the Europa League semifinal first leg against Aston Villa.

The Chelsea academy graduate is now set to miss four games in a row across all competitions, with Pereira confirming that his first choice right-back is unavailable for selection against Manchester United.

Aina was forced off with an injury in the 75th minute of the Europa League clash against Aston Villa exactly two weeks ago.

In quotes relayed by Forest's official webpage, Pereira told reporters "“Murillo is out, Aina is out. At this moment, I think Dan Ndoye, Morgan and Sangaré will be training tomorrow.

“They are all improving but I think it’s not the time to take risks. We’ll see, it’s with the medical department now.”

Aina has endured an injury-plagued campaign, with the hamstring problem he sustained while on international duty in a 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa ruling him out for almost the entire first half of the season.

The Super Eagles defender went on to feature in fifteen consecutive Premier League matches before suffering another setback that sent him back to the sidelines.
