Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek has provided an update on the future of Victor Osimhen, insisting that Galatasaray have no intention of allowing the Nigerian striker to leave the club during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Osimhen completed a permanent move to Galatasaray from Napoli in the summer of 2025 after enjoying a successful loan spell with the Istanbul giants, where he played a crucial role in helping the club secure a domestic double.
The Super Eagles forward has continued his impressive form this season, spearheading Galatasaray’s successful Turkish league title defence while also helping the club reach the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Across all competitions, Osimhen delivered another remarkable campaign, registering 22 goals and eight assists in 33 appearances.
His consistent performances have reportedly attracted interest from several European heavyweights, including Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Barcelona.
Despite growing transfer speculation surrounding the Nigerian international, Özbek maintained that Galatasaray are not entertaining any possibility of selling their star forward
Speaking during a live broadcast on HT Spor on Thursday night, the Galatasaray president dismissed talks of a potential transfer and reiterated the club’s commitment to keeping Osimhen.
"We are not considering selling Victor Osimhen . Putting a price on a player we don't intend to sell is like dressing a footballer before he's even born." Özbek said via Sabah.
He further praised the impact Osimhen has made at the club since his arrival, adding that the striker is already becoming a key figure for a new generation of Galatasaray supporters.
"Osimhen is making the second generation Galatasaray fans,” he added.
Meanwhile, Osimhen’s brilliant performances at club level have earned him a return to the Nigeria squad ahead of the upcoming international friendly matches against Poland and Portugal.
The 27-year-old missed Nigeria’s previous friendly fixtures against Iran and Jordan in Turkey, but his return is expected to provide a major boost for the Super Eagles against the European nations.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Galatasaray will be keen to keep their talisman and build on the successes achieved this campaign.
