Wolves are well-placed to agree a deal for West Ham United striker Pablo as Cesar Peixoto eyes a reunion with his former player.
The 22-year-old joined West Ham from Gil Vicente during the mid-season transfer window, but could already be set for a move away from the London Stadium.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, played a key role in bringing him to West Ham in the first place, and has now been tipped to move him to another club with which he has close ties.
Former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Mendes' influence will be important for the Hammers to move Pedro on during the summer transfer window.
Wolves' relationship with the agent could inspire a move to Molineux, while the recent appointment of Peixoto has kickstarted speculation he could seek a reunion.
However, Brown has warned against the agent's growing influence at West Ham and insisted they cannot rely on his impact to be positive.
Brown warned Football Insider that West Ham must avoid becoming too influenced by agents, but Mendes could be set to play a role again this summer.
Pablo's signing in January was met with questions after the Hammers spent £24million on a player who had joined Gil Vicente for £220,000 just six months earlier.
The striker's move to West Ham came with plenty of controversy given the fee, but he could now be set to move on again, with Wolves the likely beneficiaries.
"West Ham are willing to let Pablo go this summer," Brown told Football Insider.
"The big question then is about which clubs might be interested, because he's not exactly pulled up trees at West Ham to make anybody sit up and take notice of him.
"Wolves are the ones who have been mentioned, and that will be largely because of the role of Jorge Mendes.
"He played a big role in Pablo joining West Ham in the first place, and we all know the relationship he has with Wolves, so he will have a lot to say about that move.
"It's a dangerous game for West Ham, getting involved with these agents, because in my experience they cause more trouble than they're worth.
"But it's clear he has a big role to play in Pablo's future, first moving him to West Ham, and now potentially to Wolves with West Ham looking to move him on."
West Ham are set to undergo major changes to their squad this summer with plenty of movement expected both in terms of incoming and outgoing players.
Following their relegation from the Premier League, a number of top players are seeking moves away from the London Stadium, with Pablo the latest to eye a move.
Brown told Football Insider on 17 June that Pablo is not part of Nuno Espirito Santo's plans for next season and he is keen to move him on amid fresh interest.
The Hammers are prepared to cut their losses on the striker, as they know they will not receieve a fee close to what they spent on him in January.
Since his move to the London Stadium in January, the 22-year-old made 17 appearances, most of which came from the start, but failed to score a single goal.
