Super Eagles striker Akor Adams will be playing under a familiar face when Nigeria take on Portugal in Wednesday's international friendly, with young Spanish referee Mateo Busquets appointed to officiate the encounter at the Dr. Magalhães Pessoa Stadium in Leiria, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The 32-year-old Spaniard has previously taken charge of three matches involving Adams since the forward joined Sevilla, giving him a degree of familiarity with one of Nigeria's attacking options.
The Portuguese Football Federation have confirmed that Mateo Busquets will be assisted by Iñigo Cerin and Guadalupe Ayuso.
The video assistant referee will also be handled by Spaniards Valentin Gomez and Raul Frances, while the fourth official will be Gustavo Correia.
Busquets was the man in the middle in two away matches played by Adams in last season's La Liga, against Getafe and Villarreal, with the Nigeria international finding the back of the net against the Yellow Submarine.
In Adam's first season in Spain, Busquets officiated the Sevilla derby between Real Betis and Sevilla, with Adams entering the game as a substitute in the second half.
Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle will address the media at the pre-match press conference at Lagoas Park Hotel, Lisbon on Tuesday afternoon.
