Following an impressive campaign in their debut season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, The Bees could be set to lose one of their standout performers, who has attracted interest from a Betway Premiership side.

Sources close to the situation have revealed to the Siya crew that Golden Arrows has been closely monitoring the talented midfielder Tumelo “Rashford” Mayisa and is now pushing to secure his signature ahead of next season.

“There are other teams, including fellow Mpumalanga side Kruger United, who have shown interest in him. But as things stand at the moment, Golden Arrows are in front in the race to sign him,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.

“Their scouts have been monitoring his performances for some time now.”

Mayisa, a product of the Mpumalanga School of Excellence, enjoyed a breakthrough season with The Bees and has reportedly done enough to convince Abafana Bes’thende that he is ready for the next step in his career.

The insider further indicated that discussions are at an advanced stage, with the 21-year-old expected to link up with Arrows for preseason preparations.

“It’s believed that everything is as good as done, and he will be joining them for preseason training. That shows how serious their interest is,” the source added.

Should the move materialise, Mayisa would become one of the latest young talents to earn a switch to the Betway Premiership after impressing in the second tier.

Soccer Laduma contacted Golden Arrows for comment, but there was no response at the time of publishing.
