Ugly scenes unfolded after Mamelodi Sundowns secured a 1-0 victory over AS FAR Rabat in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Sunday evening. Check it out!

Masandawana took a slender advantage into the second leg against the Moroccan giants. However, there was a post-match incidents that quickly became the major talking point after the final whistle in Tshwane.

Videos circulating on social media show the visiting supporters clashing with Sundowns fans, security personnel and police officers inside the stadium shortly after the defeat.

In some of the footage, objects can be seen being thrown by AS FAR supporters, while police officers attempted to restore calm as tensions escalated following the heated clash between the two African heavyweights.

The incidents have once again reignited debate around crowd trouble in CAF inter-club competitions, with supporters across the continent calling for stronger action from CAF and its president Dr. Patrice Motsepe.

While passionate atmospheres are part of African football, many fans believe stricter security measures and harsher sanctions are needed to help curb violent behaviour inside stadiums.

Sundowns, meanwhile, will now shift their focus to preparations for the return leg in Rabat as they look to finish the job and potentially lift the Champions League trophy for only the second time in the club's history.
