Atletico Madrid forward Ademola Lookman on target in win against Osasuna

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman continued his impressive form in Spain after finding the back of the net in Atlético Madrid’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over CA Osasuna on Tuesday night.

The Nigeria international opened the scoring in the 15th miinute with a composed finish, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner while sending goalkeeper Aitor Fernández the wrong way.

Atletico Madrid doubled their advantage in the second half through Alexander Sørloth, who headed home from close range after a pinpoint delivery from Marcos Llorente.

Meanwhile, Kike Barja pulled one back for the home side in the closing stages after Atlético Madrid were reduced to ten men.

Lookman’s latest strike further underlined his growing influence since arriving at the Wanda Metropolitano from Atalanta during the winter transfer window.

The 28-year-old attacker has now registered eight goals and four assists across all competitions for Atletico Madrid since completing the move from the Serie A side.

The former Leicester City winger has become one of Diego Simeone’s most reliable attacking outlets, with his pace, creativity, and clinical finishing proving decisive in several key fixtures.

Lookman will now be hoping to maintain his excellent run of form ahead of the friendly matches against Portugal and Poland.
