After being exiled by Ruben Amorim before the 2025/26 season, Rashford enjoyed a career resurgence following his season-long loan move to Barcelona ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The forward finished the season with 14 goals and 14 assists in 49 games in all competitions, winning the LALIGA and Spanish Super Cup titles.

His loan deal included a £26 million (R572 million) option to make the deal permanent, which the Catalan side is reportedly keen to activate.

While the winger remains happy in Spain, the two clubs will need to reach an agreement before the deal is made permanent.

According to The Mirror, the current clause in Rashford's loan deal expires on 15 June, and should the teams fail to reach an agreement, a new deal would need to be reached to ensure he remains in Catalunya.

Rashford's Barca teammate, Frenkie De Jong, revealed he would be happy to see the 28-year-old extend his stay in Spain.

"Yes, I believe so," De Jong said when asked if the ex-Aston Villa player should stay.

"In the minutes he's played, he has given us a lot: goals, assists, depth. He is a fast player who threatens rival defences. I would be delighted if he continued with us," he added.
