Real Betis have reportedly made an exploratory enquiry with Torino over Cesare Casadei, with the Andalusian club sounding out the feasibility of a potential deal for the former Chelsea and Inter midfielder without yet entering into formal negotiations.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, The approach follows a failed attempt by Betis to sign Fiorentina’s Rolando Mandragora in recent weeks, with the Spanish club continuing to look to Serie A to strengthen their midfield options.
Casadei has attracted attention from multiple directions this summer, Everton and Brighton had also been linked with a return to the Premier League for the 23-year-old in the days prior to Betis’s enquiry.
The interest is well founded; Casadei produced an impressive campaign at Torino, making 36 appearances and contributing seven goals, six of them in Serie A, to establish himself as one of the more effective midfielders in the division.
His combination of physical presence and technical quality, developed through his time in Chelsea and Inter’s youth system, makes him an appealing target for clubs across Europe’s major leagues.
The situation is expected to become clearer over the coming weeks as the transfer market develops and Torino establish their own summer plans under new coach Ignazio Abate.
