Brighton & Hove Albion's new signing Zadok Yohanna rejected a lucrative offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah in order to complete his move to the Premier League, according to Swedish newspaper Expressen, via Fotbolltransfers.
The 18-year-old Nigerian winger has emerged as one of Europe's most exciting young prospects following a blistering start to the 2026 season with Swedish club AIK.
After joining AIK from Ikon Allah FA last summer, Zadok forced his way into the first team this year and quickly attracted attention with a series of impressive performances in the Allsvenskan.
Brighton secured his signature in a deal worth €28 million, with an additional €2 million in bonuses, taking the total package to €30 million.
The transfer is the biggest sale in AIK's history and further demonstrates Brighton's reputation for identifying and developing elite young talent.
Newcastle United and Chelsea were also interested in the teenager, with both clubs having bids worth £21 million plus bonuses accepted by AIK but neither side managed to agree personal terms with the player.
Al-Qadsiah matched Brighton's offer and presented Zadok with a highly lucrative contract, while also offering to pay the full transfer fee upfront.
Despite the financial incentives, the Nigerian opted for Brighton, believing the club offers the ideal platform for his development.
He has signed a long-term contract with the Seagulls until the end of the 2020-2031 season.
