Carlos Cuesta has committed his future to Parma, with the club confirming via their official Instagram account that the Spanish coach will continue as head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Serie A season.
The announcement ends weeks of uncertainty over Cuesta’s future, with his position having been questioned despite guiding Parma to a comfortable survival in the top flight.
The two parties held positive talks in recent days before agreeing to continue together, with Parma confirming the squad will report back for pre-season on July 13.
Cuesta originally joined Parma last summer on a contract running until June 2027, with an option to extend for a further season.
The former Arsenal assistant, who spent five years working under Mikel Arteta at London Colney before beginning his managerial career, earned widespread praise for his handling of a difficult relegation battle but faced some speculation over whether it was the ‘right style of football.’
