
Contract bump for new Downs hitman
Mamelodi Sundowns’ new hitman will start his first full season with further reason to smile after making a huge impression during the half season that he has spent at the club to date.
Colombian striker Brayan Leon will have contract benefits to accompany the lightning start that he has enjoyed at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Leon has been at Sundowns since January after completing a R50 million plus transfer from Colombian club Independiente Medellín.

The Brazilians have had value for money from the 25-year-old who has scored 15 (plus two assists) in 26 appearances spread over 18 weeks.
His contribution had a role in landing the CAF Champions League which earned the club USD6 million (approx. R98 million).
With that Champions League prize money being shared amongst players, there are guarantees of at least R1,5 million for Leon from the competition ahead of the CAF Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup later this year.
This website has since established that with effect from July 1, Leon’s financial terms will be upped ahead of his first full season at the club.
The improvements on his contract will come after achieving on all the clauses in his contract, which stands to ruin until June 2030.
Information gathered from Colombia points to that Leon’s contract has performance clauses that contribute to increasing what the club pays him every year.
With the contract bump, Leon will enter the bracket of top earners at Sundowns.

That gross package for his first full year will now push him towards also placing himself at the doorstep of the best earning players in the Betway Premiership.
The figures of his package have been mentioned but cannot be publicised due to matters of confidentiality.
