Brahim Díaz is one assist away from equalling Morocco’s record for most assists at a single World Cup after setting up Ismael Saibari in each of the Atlas Lions’ opening two matches, according to Opta.
The Real Madrid attacker created Saibari’s goal in Morocco’s 1-1 draw with Brazil and supplied him again for the strike that secured Friday’s 1-0 victory over Scotland.
Díaz’s two assists make him only the second Moroccan to register multiple assists at one World Cup.
Former defender Tahar El Khalej holds the national record after providing three assists during the 1998 tournament in France, when Morocco also faced Brazil and Scotland in the group stage.
Díaz can match that mark when Morocco meet Haiti in their final Group C fixture on Wednesday. A fourth assist later in the tournament would give him the record outright.
Morocco have four points from two matches and are level with Brazil, who lead the group on goal difference.
The 26-year-old entered the World Cup after finishing as the leading scorer at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with five goals in six matches.
His five consecutive scoring appearances at that tournament also established an Africa Cup of Nations record.
