Reports in Italy claim that eight Juventus ultras have been arrested following clashes with police and Torino ultras on Sunday.

Press agency ANSA is among the Italian sources reporting that eight Juventus ultras have been arrested because of their involvement in Sunday’s violent clashes outside the Stadio Grande Torino, hours before the Derby della Mole kick-off.

Those arrested are considered responsible for resisting public officials, throwing dangerous objects and possessing pyrotechnic devices during sporting events.

The Turin Police Chief has also issued eleven stadium bans, while six officers were injured during clashes.

A 36-year-old Juventus fan was hospitalised in critical condition on Sunday and is in an induced coma after undergoing emergency surgery last night.

Juventus ultras didn’t want the game to be played, threatening to invade the pitch if the match began.

When Lega Serie A and public authorities decided to go ahead and start the game one hour behind schedule, Juventus ultras walked out, leaving the away end empty.
