Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Thembinkosi Biyela is not happy with the way the issue of winger Glody Lilepo is being handled.

The Congolese recently sparked some intense transfer speculation after posting cryptic "goodbye" messages on social media, though the club remains in full control of his contractual future.

In a recent 1-0 victory over AmaZulu FC, Lilepo scored the winning goal but was immediately red-carded after taking off his shirt in celebration.

He is being linked with top clubs from around Africa, including Moroccan side Raja Casablanca.

Having signed from French outfit Valenciennes in January 2025, Lilepo is under contract with Chiefs until June 2027.

"No player should be bigger than a big team like Kaizer Chiefs. We can't be relying on one player. You still have the likes of Pule Mmodi and others who can play in Lilepo's position," shares a displeased Biyela, speaking to KickOff.

"A team like Chiefs should have three players in each position. The club should fine Lilepo for making a stupid mistake like taking off his shirt while he was on a yellow card.

"He must not behave as if he is carrying the whole team on his shoulders. If he wants to go, he must be allowed to leave. It's not the end of the world. It is not as if everything depends on him.

"A team like Chiefs can't rely on an individual," he added.
