LALIGA giants Real Madrid, who have not had the best of seasons both domestically and in the UEFA Champions League, have confirmed the departure of a star first-team player.
Los Blancos officially announced that captain Dani Carvajal will depart the Spanish giants at the end of the season following a mutual agreement.
Carvajal is one of only five players in football history to have won six UEFA Champions League titles and has been part of a team that experienced one of the brightest periods in the club's long and rich history.
He joined the senior side in 2013 and won 27 titles with the Madrid outfit, making 450 appearances and scoring 14 goals.
“Dani Carvajal is a legend and a symbol of Real Madrid and its academy," Real president Florentino Perez told the club's official website.
"His image alongside our beloved and remembered Alfredo Di Stefano laying the first stone of Ciudad Real Madrid will forever remain in the hearts of all Madridistas and in the history of our club.
