Tuesday’s reports claim that Inter are willing to increase their offer for Italy international Marco Palestra, that Atalanta are standing firm on their valuation of the full-back and that Juventus’s Andrea Cambiaso is being lined up as a potential alternative.
Inter are attempting to secure a deal for promising young talent Palestra to replace Denzel Dumfries, whose release clause has been activated by Real Madrid. The 21-year-old impressed while on loan with Cagliari in 2025-26 and during his first appearances for the Italy national team, despite the team’s failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Recent reports claimed that Atalanta would not budge from their €50m valuation, although Tuesday’s updates claim that La Dea could seek a slightly higher fee in the region of €53m-€55m. Atalanta appear unwilling to accept players plus cash in exchange for Palestra, despite a reported offer to include Inter youngster Matteo Cocchi as part of a potential deal.
There had been concerns that Inter’s ownership group Oaktree would not be willing to increase their offer from €40m plus bonuses for Palestra, however, the latest updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the Nerazzurri will soon table a bid worth €45m plus add-ons.
Meanwhile, there have been reports from SportItalia that Inter could look to secure a transfer for Cambiaso from fierce rivals Juventus in the event that the Palestra deal falls through. If that were to be the case, Inter would reportedly be willing to include either Davide Frattesi or Carlos Augusto as part of a player-plus cash offer.
