Former Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele recently went on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing behind-the-scenes facts from his glory days with the Buccaneers — revealing his pre-season camp to the teammates who made life on the road entertaining.
In a light-hearted "Vodacom Tshamaya" promotional feature produced in collaboration with former Orlando Pirates midfielder-turned-content creator Michael Morton, Jele reflected on some of the defining moments and personalities that shaped his legendary spell at the Soweto giants.
The 39-year-old club ex-Bucs skipper, who played a key role in Pirates' famous back-to-back trebles in 2011 and 2012, made more than 390 appearances for the Sea Robbers and remains one of the most respected figures in the club's modern era.
During the quick-fire Q&A session, Jele name-dropped several former Buccaneers stars, including goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo, fullback Thabo Matlaba, winger Luvuyo Memela and striker Thamsanqa Gabuza, as he revisited some of the squad's most memorable travel moments.

One of the more amusing revelations came when Jele was asked which teammate always had the best snacks while on tour. Without hesitation, he pointed to former goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs.
The former skipper also opened up about the toughest pre-season camp he endured during his career and revealed the two countries he always wished Pirates could have visited for pre-season preparations — Germany and Spain, topping his dream destination list.
