Speaking on his YouTube channel, Italian journalist Romano has revealed Manchester United's dream signing in the middle of the park in the summer transfer window.

The respected reporter reveals that Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is United's dream addition, but the Spanish club are yet to open the door for a potential sale.

"There is no doubt at all, Manchester United dream and love Tchouameni. I can guarantee this, they super appreciate the player and consider him perfect. But at the same time, to be realistic in terms of transfer fee, it depends on Real Madrid. They are yet to open the doors to an exit, and then also the salary."

A potential deal to sign Tchouameni in the summer transfer window doesn't appear to be very realistic, but if Madrid open the doors, United could pounce.

The one midfield signing that does feel realistic for the summer transfer window is Fernandes.

Reports suggest that United believe they can sign him for a cut-price fee before the end of the month. The asking price could be what has delayed a deal so far.

Anderson looks likely to head to United's rival City if he does move this summer, while a deal for Tchouameni could be difficult to get over the line.

United are still prioritising bringing in midfielders in the market, but it remains to be seen who arrives through the door at Old Trafford this summer.
