After a good start to the season under coach Eric Tinkler and fighting to finish in the top three and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup, Sekhukhune United are now fighting to finish in the top four after losing 2-0 to Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
After the game on Saturday, interim coach Paulus Masehe said that, regardless of whichever position they finish in this season, the players deserve better after what they gave to the team.

"To be honest, for the players, you feel like it's a little bit disappointing because they remained among the top teams for the longest time in this season. And they would have deserved maybe to finish at number three, number four. But we still have a chance to finish number four. And of which I think it would be fair for us, for them also. Because they have worked extremely hard. They deserve something better this year.
“And they gave everything. Even today, I cannot falter anyone. The effort was there. The mistakes that happened, the mistakes of the game of football, that you can make mistakes on the other end, and you get punished on the other end. But as for the boys, I wish that we could just win these two games and we finish my effort so that we can complement their good effort," Masehe told the media.
The former Free State Stars midfielder further stated that the traveling affected the team, and the players need to rest ahead of the final two games.
"I think something that we need to do that we didn't get a chance to do is to rest the players. Let them rest, and then we see them, well, they are fresh. There are only two games, so there's no need to train that much so that they can be fresh against Richard's Bay. Because when they are fresh, most definitely they'll give you 100%. But it wasn't to be today, and we tried, we tried also, it wasn't to be," Masehe concluded.
Babina Noko's last two games for the season are against Richards Bay and Siwelele FC. They are currently in fifth position on the Betway Premiership League log with 42 points from 28 games, two points behind fourth-placed AmaZulu FC.
