Napoli are exploring a creative solution to sign Lazio defender Mario Gila, with the club considering offering Lorenzo Lucca as part of any deal to bridge the gap between their valuation and Lazio’s asking price of €30 million.
According to Sky Sport’s Manuele Baiocchini, via LaLazioSiamoNoi, Gila has emerged as one of the summer’s most coveted centre-backs, attracting interest from both Milan and Bournemouth in recent weeks.
However, Napoli and incoming coach Massimiliano Allegri hold pole position, with the Spanish defender understood to be pushing for the move himself.
The sticking point is financial, Lotito values Gila at €30 million, a figure Napoli consider excessive given that his contract expires in June 2027.
The Lucca angle could prove decisive in the Partenopei’s pursuits.
Lazio are actively seeking attacking reinforcements ahead of Gennaro Gattuso’s first season, and the striker, who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, is considered surplus to requirements by Napoli.
If the two clubs can agree on the financial structure of an exchange formula, a deal could develop quickly in the coming days, despite increased interest from abroad.
