Remo Stars technical adviser Usman Abd’Allah insisted that his team will maintain their top-flight status at the end of the season.

The Sky Blue Stars boosted their survival hopes with a hard-earned 2-1 victory over Bayelsa United in Ikenne last weekend.

Ofem Nneoyi gave Bayelsa United the lead after five minutes.

Remo Stars however rallied to win the game courtesy of goals from Alex Oyowah, and Victor Mbaoma.

The holders moved out of the relegation zone following the hard-earned victory.

Abd’Allah’s side will however need to win their last game of the season against Bendel Insurance to guarantee their safety.

“We have been doing well away from home. In our last 11 matches since I took charge of the team, we have scored in each of them,” Abd’Allah told the club’s media.

“Even in the games that we lost, we scored as well. My team can score any where, against any team.

“We have to work very hard to score because we have to win. We need nothing less than a win. We can’t be written off.By the grace of God, we will go there, get the three points and escape relegation.”

Abd’Allah also reflected on his team’s victory over Bayelsa United.

“It was what we expected, a difficult game against a team fighting against relegation. They have 40 points before the game, a win would have seen them move to 43 points like us, ” added the former Super Eagles assistant coach.

“They scored first, and we equalised. Thank God we were able to score the winning goal, and win the game.”
